From the remote internet trader, remote fixed vpn collocated trader, or remote dynamic vpn collocated trader, Velocity's IT personnel have vast experience taylor making a solution to provide you with security and speed that fits your budget and requirements. Connectivity Solutions for your Trading Option #1 - Internet Remote The internet remote trader is the most common and widely used for the small, medium and large screen based point and click trader given it's cost, flexibility and ease of setup. In this configuration your trading platform runs on your local workstation and you connect to our gateways over the internet to gain access to the futures exchanges. This method can be fast depending on your personal internet connectivity and geographic location. Such things as speed of your personal connection play the largest part in your satisfaction with this type of connectivity. Option #2 - Remote Static VPN Hosted (Co-located) In the fixed remote collocation example a trader runs the trading platform on one of our servers actually inside of our data center and connects to the machine via a fixed VPN connection over the internet to their location. In this case only screen updates are being sent over the internet to the trader and the actual trading takes place without the 30-120 millisecond delays from the internet. This is the fastest possible solution short of actually being at the exchange. Our data center servers are inside the same building as the exchange itself and are <1 ms from the exchange connections. Option #3 - Internet Dynamic VPN Hosted (Co-located) This configuration is exactly the same as the above mentioned remote fixed vpn hosted with the exception that your vpn connection is slightly less secure but it is dynamic allowing you to change locations or travel and still maintain a vpn connection to the server remotely. Although less secure, speed is identical. Option #4 - Trading System Hosting (Co-located) When latency and ultimate reliability are key, your system can be hosted directly in one of Velocity Futures data centers. We provide turn-key private trading systems as well as hosting your custom trading platform.
